Tip's for Prevention

According to Federal Bureau of Investigation statistics, 4 out of every 10 women have been a victim of rape or violent assault and 1 of the remaining 6 will fall victim to one of these vicious crimes at some point of their life. It is estimated that a sexual assault or rape is being committed every 60 seconds, here in the United.
There are some basic steps that you can take to help lower your risk of falling victim to sexual or violent assault. Some of these things you might already know but many women still ignore them because they believe "it won't happen to me", sadly it can happen.

1. Always know exactly where you are.
In the event you are confronted with a threat, you need to know your exact location. A 911 dispatcher will also ask you where you are, be prepared to give cross street intersections or physical address locations. This will provide you with the best chance of responding law enforcement officers finding you.

2. Be prepared to act.
Have your keys ready in hand before you get to your car. This will prevent you from having to search for your keys and reduces the time it takes to open the car door. Once inside the car, lock your doors and immediately drive away.

3. Avoid dark areas of streets and parking lots.
While walking on the street late at night, make sure you walk in well lighted areas of streets and parking lots. Criminals utilize the dark as cover and hide in wait for vulnerable women.

4. Invest in a quality self defense product and be prepared to use it.
Investing in a quality personal protection product and having it readily available for use is a cheap insurance policy for your safety. There are many self defense products on the market today which are very effective in providing you with a chance to get away from a determined criminal. My personal recommendation is the Taser C2. This product deploys 2 probes from a distance of 15 feet and packs a punch of 50,000 volts on you attacker dropping him like a bad habit. The Taser C2 is backed by a lifetime warranty and replacement guarantee.

5. Develop a number of daily routines.
Have various routes to and from work and the grocery store. Try to travel a different route each day avoiding the possibility of someone identifying your routine.

6. Always be aware of your surroundings.
Look around the area before getting into their car. Look for people who do not fit the area and appear to be lingering around for no reason. Criminals prey on vulnerability and have been known to study their victims prior to the attack in an attempt to establish a pattern.

Having a plan and always carrying a personal defense product such as pepper spray, a Taser, Stun Gun is always a good idea. After all, you are the first line of defense in your personal safety. Don’t wait for something to happen before you invest into your personal safety. Act now, you own it to yourself and your loved ones.
